Burn Ban

March 26, 2008

Due to high winds and dry conditions, the Meridian Fire Department asks the public to discontinue burning.

This department will not be issuing any burn permits until this condition improves. The burn permits that have already been issued are still valid at this time but we request all permit holders not burn until this department lifts the burn ban. We will issue a notice when we feel it is safe to resume permitted burning.

Any reports of burning of any kind during this time will result in the fire being extinguished by Fire Department personnel.

Remember that all burning inside the city must be permitted by the Fire Department & supervised at all times by the permit holder.
