Annual Events

Mardi Gras Parade & Festival

This festival is fun for the whole family, with everything from live music and activities for the kids, to crawfish and king cakes. The annual dog parade is always a huge hit, and so is the Krewe of Midas parade, where you can catch beads, MoonPies, and more!

Juneteenth Heritage Festival

The Juneteenth Festival includes activities for the kids, a business expo, live music, and a gospel celebration.

July 4th Celebration

The city hosts a full day of family-filled fun at Bonita Lakes. It features plenty of activities for kids, food trucks, live music, and the evening ends with a magnificent patriotic fireworks show.

Meridian Day at Neshoba County Fair

Meridian Day at the Neshoba County Fair is on the last Wednesday during the last-week-of-July. We provide a tent and display to promote Meridian and our annual events.

Candy Crawl

This Halloween event allows children to trick or treat at participating businesses downtown. Music, activities for the kids, and food trucks set up at Dumont Plaza and the City Hall Lawn.

City of Meridian Tree Lighting Ceremony

The official Tree Lighting Ceremony is held the last week of November on the lawn at City Hall, where the lighting of the 34-foot Animated Christmas Tree rings in the holiday season.

Christmas Parade

Held the first Saturday in December, it is one of Mississippi’s largest nighttime Christmas parades.
