The mission of the Meridian Fire Department as a modern professional fire and emergency services organization, is to minimize or eliminate threats from all emergency events directed at any citizen’s life or property. The preservation of the public’s safety and property is our business, and we are our neighbor’s keeper. We train and certify our members to high professional standards, educating the public in fire prevention so they can apply that knowledge before the suppression of fire becomes necessary.
Presently, first response to a structure fire would include:
- Two engines
- A ladder truck
- A rescue truck
- Battalion Chief’s command vehicle
