The IMS Program is a component of the City’s comprehensive Capacity, Management, Operations, and Maintenance (CMOM) Program initiative and is intended to provide the Public Works Department with a set of electronic information management tools that personnel can use to store, analyze, and access information relating to the sewer system’s management, operation, and maintenance. The IMS interfaces with data from all other CMOM programs – essentially making it the central nervous system of the initiative. The ability of Meridian to effectively manage its sewer system is directly related to its capability to access the most current system and operations data. Improved operational information leads to more informed management decisions, which in turn should result in better service for citizens within the community. Effective implementation of this IMS Program is expected to support a more efficient wastewater system by minimizing service interruptions while maximizing the value of the City’s capital, operations, and maintenance dollars.
