City of Meridian offices will open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

Message from City’s Public Safety Director Doug Stephens:

Hard Freeze Warning in affect through mid-day Wednesday, Jan 17, 2024. This means temps will fall below freezing tonight and may stay below freezing until around noon Wednesday. Lows – both tonight and Tuesday night – should be in the teens. This will cause wind chills to be from 0-10 degrees. These are dangerous low temperatures.

Forecasters from the National Weather Service are also predicting an accumulation of some form of wintry precipitation for tonight into tomorrow morning. We could see a tenth of an inch or less of this accumulation. This could be sleet and or freezing rain. This may cause some bridges and overpasses to freeze, causing dangerous traveling conditions.

We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as necessary. Be safe!
